I love Christmas cookies. I’ve never been able to make sugar cookies just right, however, until today. I followed a recipe from a magazine exactly; I used a sifter to sift the flour before stirring it in, I refrigerated my dough overnight, and I mixed everything thoroughly. I put in a little too much vanilla extract, but thankfully, it’s not noticable.
The cookies turned out great. At least, I think they’re pretty good. I think they look pretty, too; I mixed up icing using powdered egg whites and confectioner’s sugar, and used plastic bags to pipe the stripes and dots onto the cooled cookies. I’m looking forward to making these cookies again for my inlaws and my parents right before Christmas.
