Favorite holiday food

Today I’ll be writing about my favorite holiday food, the food that reminds me of Christmas. Most people think of pies or roast beef or green beans or something of that sort, but not me. I think of something else altogether.

The  holidays are not complete without… a Jubilee Roll from Friendly’s! We’d buy one instead of a birthday cake to celebrate my Christmabirthday. I loved all the different ice cream flavors, the chocolate chips, and the hot fudge! When I was younger, I didn’t like the walnuts on top, but now I wouldn’t mind them. I’d love to get one this year for my birthday, but I’m not sure Friendly’s products are sold in Oregon, so I’ll have to wait for the next time I’m home for the holidays.

  1. whoa – I’ve never seen one of those before! looks yummy.

    1. I think they’re only sold where there are Friendly’s, and I don’t think they have Friendly’s in TN! They’re based not far from where I grew up in western MA.

  2. they definitely don’t have them here in TN or in IL where I grew up… I wonder if you could find one online and have it shipped to you :)

  3. Ha! Jubilee roll! That is fantastic! :) You can take the lady out of New England, but you can’t take the New England out of her. ;) I’ve never had it. I used to flove the watermelon roll.

    1. I love both the Jubilee Roll and the Watermelon Roll! I miss them both a ton since moving out here.

I checked, and unfortunately there isn’t a place that will ship these to Portland. :(

    1. Bummer! I figured as much. I’m hoping to enjoy one next year, if I’m hopefully living back east!
