Minor update on my life.
One day I will be awesome at updating my site on a more frequent basis. However, I’ve been busy with NaNoWriMo, working later than usual, and playing Guitar Hero III for the Wii, not to mention frantically finishing up Christmas knitting projects. Mid-November’s nearing, which means I don’t have too much time left to complete gifts.
For the first time ever, I will not be going to Massachusetts around Christmastime. This makes me sad because Christmas is also my birthday, and I like spending Christmas and my birthday with my family. We are hoping to visit my family in January when tickets are cheaper, but that means either shipping all the gifts to my family or giving some of them to my mother who’s coming to visit the last weekend in November to bring back home.
Speaking of home, Scott and I are flying out to Massachusetts on Friday night and returning on Sunday. I’m looking forward to going home; I haven’t been back to my parents’ house now in nearly a year, since last Christmas when we drove practically overnight to surprise my mom on Christmas morning. My sister’s birthday’s next Monday, so I’ll be happy to celebrate it over the weekend.
I love my novel this year. I decided to throw caution to the wind and write a cheesy romance novel based in a craft store, and I’m enjoying it much more this year than I have in previous years. However, this year’s the first year I’m writing without a laptop, and I’ve found I absolutely cannot write my novel on my main desktop. So, this year, I’m pretty much writing it by hand, in a pink notebook I got for Christmas 6 or 7 years ago. Writing by hand has its positives and negatives, a positive being the fact that I can tote it anywhere with me and write wherever I want, the negative being it is a huge, huge pain to transcribe to my computer after I write the day’s word count. I’m hoping for a laptop by next year’s Nano so I’m not stuck doing this again!
Also, weekend pass way too quickly. How is it already after 10pm on Sunday night?
