Nanowrimo woes

I’ve been really, really slacking on my novel this year; I have no motivation to write it and in all honesty, I’ve almost stopped writing it a few times.

Thankfully I hate to give up on anything.

Denise and I went to the weekly Bloomington Nanowrimo meeting yesterday and were amused to find we were the youngest people there. I really like this group of people; we stayed at the cafe and laughed and talked for two and a half hours before Denise and I needed to go to the grocery store to pick up food for dinner.

Much to our amusement, we ended up talking to our cashier and bagger about Nano; the two of them asked about Denise’s Nano T-shirt and we may have gotten one of them interested in actually starting his novel so late in the month. Excellent.

I need to write around 5,000 words to catch up to where I should be in my mind (I try to set a goal of writing 2,000 words a day, so I’ll finish by the 25th) and hopefully I can do this tonight before Scott arrives. I know I can do it.

I will be happy when I finish this thing, that’s for sure. I’m not proud of my novel this year.
