Video card woes
Right before Christmas, I reformatted my computer. Everything worked fine for a few weeks until one morning when I turned my computer on. Imagine my surprise when I noticed my display looked like this:
Needless to say, I was not happy and came to the conclusion that my video card had died.
Fast forward to mid-January:
I put the video card I thought had died back into my machine after having it out for nearly a month. I updated the drivers, and lo and behold, it worked fine again! Problem solved, or so I thought.
Fast forward to last week:
Booted my computer up one morning, same messed up screen. Shut it off, went to work, came back home, booted computer up again. Worked fine.
Wednesday of last week: Booted computer up after work, messed up screen. reinstalling drivers did not help. Reinstalled motherboard AGP chipset drivers, worked again!
Today: Messed up screen again. Pulling hair out. Tweaked it so that the messups go away when surfing the net and chatting, but boom, streaks are back when I boot up EQ. Ugh.
So, I think I need a new video card. Anyone else have any ideas what the problem may be besides this? I seriously do think it’s the card and man, it is annoying.
