Welcome to the new Star Shaped!
At long last, I have completed my updates to Star Shaped! Finally! I’ve been sitting on these changes for about a month, and I’ve just recently made the time to finish it. I didn’t deviate much from the original layout, but I’ve changed a few things behind the scenes.
Firstly, I’m now using Drupal to power my blog. Yes, I know. I should be using WordPress because it’s just a blog, but I love Drupal. I love the ease of which I can organize my content. Also, I looooove Views and Drush, neither of which I can use with a WordPress installation. I’m pretty happy with how my site looks and functions.
Next, I’ve added a few sections pertaining to my interests. I’ve written a new About Me page, plus I’ve added sections about my Running and DIY history. I’m hoping to get more pages up in the future, but for now, this works. (Note: The DIY page is no longer active as of 4/21/13. Something similar will be back up sometime in the future.)
Finally, I’ve widened my site’s maximum length a tiny bit, from 960px to 1160px. I remember the days when I steadfastly held on to designing for 800 by 600 (who remembers those days?), so it’s strange to me still that 1024 by 768 is a bit out of date! Also, this site should be mostly responsive, but I need to make a few lot of updates to other sections of the site. (Yeah. The header? Not so responsive yet.) Now that this site is up and running, hopefully I’ll be back to updating a bit more often! Let me know if you see any funkiness.
I’m super excited that this is finally live!
